Attila the Hun

Photon Ray: Sword of Mars

Much like Altera’s Noble Phantasm, Attila raises his sword high and calls upon the power of Mars to strike down his enemy. Unlike Altera, Attila has no need to redirect the beam as Mars willingly sends his power down onto the wanted target. Furthermore, while able to be wielded just as Altera does normally, Attila does not have the constitution or ability to use the Anti-Fortress Teardrop Photon Ray but can use a marginally weaker version mentioned above.

Brash, imposing, stalwart, all can be used to describe the Scourge of God’s personality. Confident in his own leadership and warring abilities, Attila spares no expense in boasting about his strength in battle.   Excessive in all things, Attila sees everything through to its conclusion, no matter how small. Having died before his full potential could be achieved, Attila sees no reason not to do everything and anything he can while he has a second chance.   Attila’s greatest strength could be said to be his unwavering advance in life. Never stopping, always moving, one foot at a time, he himself was the heart of his empire, and when he died, his empire did with him.   Like his counterpart, Altera, Attila is a lover of war. However, unlike her, Attila is a wise ruler, a granter of mercy and not rash in decision-making, making him a much more competent ruler of a nation.

Attila the Hun is a conqueror, almighty and powerful. He will not bow to the Master of Chaldea so easily if he is used simply as a tool. While his impressive prowess in battle might lend to the idea that he is nothing but a weapon to be pointed at the enemy and let loose, Attila will warm up to the Master if he is also relied on for his intelligence and wisdom.     As any other human from human history would, Attila’s interest in the continuation of True Human History is strong, so finding cooperation with him to save the world should not be difficult. However, his love for war and conflict could lead to infighting amongst other servants.

One of the most famous depictions of Attila the Hun is in the painting by Eugène Delacroix, however, I wanted to be as realistic as possible, and because the painting depicts him as a rather Northern European looking lad, I had to look at other sources of info, knowing that the Huns were from around Central Asia and Eastern Europe. It’s important to note, that as the Huns moved westward and conquered more people, their homogeneity of physical characteristics also changed. As some propose the Huns as having East Asian heritage, by the time they were marching into Western Europe, the majority of their people would have incorporated European characteristics. In lieu of this, I decided to give Attila features as described in many Roman works about him while also not completely making him look East Asian. This kind of stuff is very tricky to get around. So expect the design to change sometime, yeah?
